  • All applications are assessed based on basic criteria such as minimum academic achievement, age limits established for each level of education, and required documents.
  • The Expert Committee considers applications from eligible candidates using a variety of criteria, including academic status, previous qualifications, academic interests, professional aspirations, consistency of preferences, letter of intent content, and participation in social events. Following this stage, a final list of qualified candidates for the interview process is established.

Test:

Prior to the Presidential Delegations’ face-to-face interviews, undergraduate candidates take a 30-question quantitative test that includes questions about mathematics, geometry, and logic.

The tests will be administered prior to the interview in order to evaluate candidates applying to the fields of health sciences, science, and engineering, which receive the most applications compared to other disciplines. Tests will also be given to candidates applying in the field of social sciences, and the results will be compared to those of other applicants.

The test will include questions that require explanations in both Turkish and English, as well as those that do not need to be translated. English sources are frequently used in basic courses at health, science, and engineering programs in Turkey, as well as in many other countries around the world, candidates applying in these fields must demonstrate a sufficient level of English to comprehend and respond to the test questions.

Despite the fact that the test is based on the country’s educational curricula, questions have also been developed to align with the Turkish curriculum. Undergraduate candidates planning to study in Turkey are expected to be conversant with the core of the Turkish curriculum.

Face-to-face interviews will take place on the same day as the test, and will be conducted in morning and afternoon sessions. Candidates will be informed of their test and interview timeslot when they receive their invitations to the interview.

Candidates will have 60 minutes to complete the 30-question test.

Note 1: For individuals applying from Azerbaijan, 50 questions cover mathematics, geometry, and logic. For applicants from Greece and the TRNC, 50 questions cover Turkish, mathematics, physics, and social sciences. In these countries, all candidates who have been invited to an interview will take the tests in a single session. Face-to-face interviews will be conducted in the days immediately after the exam. Candidates will receive their exam timeslots along with their interview invitations.

Note 2: In countries with a high volume of applications, such as Afghanistan and Sudan, the Presidency may hold 80 to 100-question exams, depending on the number of applicants.

Interview:

Candidates selected from more than 100 countries in the final list are evaluated by interview committees consisting of academics and experts.

The interview, which usually lasts 15-30 minutes, is carried out in the following format:

  • Welcome and entrance
  • Check of documents
  • Purpose of the candidate’s application
  • Academic knowledge and career goals
